MYOPIA

Myopia, commonly called “nearsightedness”, is a condition that affects more and more children every year.  Multiple studies are investigating the cause for this increase in prevalence.

Studies show that low dose Atropine, an eye drop, used daily for 2–7 years, frequently slows down the progression of myopia.

In children with near-sightedness who are old enough for contact lenses, multifocal contact lenses might also be an option.  Studies have shown that these contacts also help slow the progression of myopia.
